WATER & OIL IMMERSION HEATERS

WATER & OIL IMMERSION HEATERS

Immersion heaters are designed to heat liquids by direct submersion, with water and
oil immersion heaters tailored to specific media. They consist of tubular heating elements
(copper, stainless steel, or Incoloy) brazed or welded to a flange or screw plug, operating at
temperatures up to 750°F (399°C) for water and 600°F (316°C) for oil.

Design Features:
● Sheath materials matched to liquid (e.g., copper for water, Incoloy for oil)
● Flange or screw-plug mounting
● Optional thermostats for temperature control
● High corrosion resistance

Description

Applications:
● Water heating in boilers and tanks
● Oil preheating in industrial processes
● Chemical processing
● Food and beverage sterilization

Benefits:
● Direct and efficient liquid heating
● Wide range of sheath materials for compatibility
● Easy installation and maintenance
● Precise temperature control with add-ons

Technical Insight: Watt densities is critical for immersion heaters (10–40 W/in2), with lower
densities used for viscous oils to prevent coking.
